Guatemala City, Guatemala
Hermano Pedro is an ornate, meticulously kept hostel in Guatemala City’s Zone 13. Its wide variety of well furnished rooms are dispersed throughout a large, repurposed mid 20th century mansion that’s in a small, private neighborhood just a few minutes drive from the Aurora International Airport.
The hostel is well connected with other hostels throughout Guatemala, Spanish language schools, and local transportation companies. Hermano Pedro offers door-to-door services from their hostel in Guatemala City to others in Antigua and Panajachel.
Hermano Pedro is very quiet and spacious, with intentional and somewhat solemn decor. While the rooftop areas boast plenty of light, plants and open-air seating and lounging, the rooms and indoor common areas trend towards a more Victorian sensibility.
The hostel has been serving guests since 2000, and is run from a home that’s been in the family since the 1970’s. They offer a variety of accommodations from dormitory beds to private rooms, and are well prepared to organize travel to anywhere in the country. All taxes, a free, generous breakfast (exchangeable for dinner in the case of an early flight), and an airport shuttle are included in the list prices. Laundry service is also available.
Hermano Pedro is within walking distance of the Museo Nacional de Arqueología y Etnología and the Aurora Zoo, and is a few minute’s taxi drive from the Zona Viva entertainment district. All major credit cards are accepted.
