The Livingston to Puerto Barrios water taxi (colectivo) leaves the Livingston main dock at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM and 4:45 PM. It costs Q35 ($4.65) and takes about a half-hour. The Livingston to Puerto Barrios boat runs on a regular schedule, but sometimes non-regular boats can be scheduled for a higher fee. Boats leaving at different times, when available, cost Q50 ($6.65).

Puerto Barrios is an exit point to Honduras. Many backpackers leaving Guatemala from Livingston will travel through Puerto Barrios before their exit.
